Festive Ads Checklist.

36 checks to run before you put a single rupee into festive ads.

Festive season is when ad costs climb and every brand fights for the same feed. Tick off each check below and watch your launch readiness score go up. Your ticks are saved on this device, so you can come back to it.

The guide behind the checklist

How to plan festive season ads that actually sell

Every festive season, more brands push money into Instagram and Facebook ads at the same time. More advertisers are bidding for the same people, so the cost of reaching them goes up, and the brands that win are not always the ones with the biggest budget. They are the ones that planned early, tracked properly and gave Meta strong creatives to work with. This checklist is built around that idea. Here is how to use it.

1. Fix the offer before anything else

A festive ad is only as strong as the offer inside it. People are comparing many brands in the same week, so your offer has to be clear in one glance: a gift box, a combo, a free gift, or a straight discount. Write it in a few words that fit on a Reel. Add an end date and a last delivery date so people have a reason to buy now, not "later".

2. Get tracking right while costs are still low

Meta's system learns from your conversions. If your Pixel is missing purchases, or the order value is not passing, Meta is optimising blind and your reports will not match your sales. Check the Pixel and Conversions API before the season starts, when a mistake is cheap, not in the peak week when every rupee counts.

3. Make more creatives than you think you need

Creative does most of the targeting on Meta today. Lead with vertical Reels, put the product or offer in the first three seconds, add subtitles, and test different angles: gifting, price, quality, and a real person using the product. Festive ads tire quickly because people see so many of them, so keep a second set of creatives ready to swap in.

4. Launch early, then scale what works

New campaigns go through a learning phase. If you launch on the busiest days, you pay peak prices while Meta is still learning. Start one to two weeks before the peak with a test budget, find the ads with the lowest cost per order, and move money there. Raise budgets in steps rather than doubling overnight.

5. Do not forget the people who almost bought

Festive season brings a lot of visitors who browse, add to cart and leave. A simple retargeting campaign with a reminder of the offer and the delivery cut-off is often where the cheapest sales come from. After the festival, keep talking to them with a follow-up or clearance offer instead of switching everything off.

A simple festive timeline

  1. 3 to 4 weeks beforeLock the offer and stock, fix tracking, shoot creatives, build audiences.
  2. 1 to 2 weeks beforeLaunch test campaigns, find winning ads, set up retargeting.
  3. Peak weekScale the winners, push the delivery cut-off, refresh tired creatives.
  4. After the festivalRetarget engaged people with a follow-up offer and review what worked for next season.

Common questions

When should I start festive ads?

Ideally one to two weeks before the peak shopping days, with your offer, tracking and creatives ready three to four weeks before. That gives campaigns time to learn before costs are at their highest.

How many ad creatives do I need?

Start with at least three to five variations using different hooks and formats, and keep a backup set ready. Festive audiences see a lot of ads, so creatives get tired faster than usual.

Should I use interest targeting or broad audiences?

For most brands, broad or Advantage+ audiences with strong creatives work well for finding new buyers, with a separate retargeting campaign for people who already visited or engaged.

Does this work for Diwali, Christmas, Eid and wedding season?

Yes. The checks are the same for any high-demand season: a clear offer, working tracking, enough creatives, early launch and retargeting. Only the creative theme and dates change.
